The Estoril of the Azores

Açores

The shelter of the monks (known as calouros) who fled from Furnas due to the 1630 volcanic eruption, the Vale dos Cabaços eventually became known as Caloura, in honor of that past, and later transformed into the prime beach area of São Miguel.

With natural pools, freshly caught fish straight from the sea, and a privileged climate, it feels as though paradise truly exists—and it’s here in the Azores.
