Montado Route

Alentejo

Where trains once passed, now lies the Ecopista of the Grande Rota do Montado, linking Reguengos de Monsaraz to Évora.

From Octant, you can easily access the Ecopista near Machede Station and cross the old railway bridge over the Degebe River—one of the most striking landmarks along its 37-kilometre route.

Cycling through olive groves, vineyards, and cork oak forests, past ash and willow trees, towards Évora, Redondo, or Monsaraz, is an experience not to be missed.
