Casa da Vila Nova

Bernardo e Luís Lencastre

Douro

At the Casa de Vila Nova vineyards, harvesting is more than just picking grapes – it’s about honouring an ancient knowledge, passed down through generations. Among bunches of Arinto, Loureiro, and Alvarinho, each harvest celebrates the land, time, and the cycle of nature. The day begins in the fields, followed by a wine tasting, and culminates in the tradition of foot-treading the grapes, a ritual that brings together those who share a passion for green wine.

It is from this heritage, preserved by the Lencastre family since the 12th century, that the Octant Douro green wine is born. Created in partnership with Casa de Vila Nova, it brings to the table the essence of this land and respect for a timeless craft.
